18 days and counting!!

I have 18 days left until Baby Custer's arrival. I think we have all of the stuff we need for her, well we know she is definitely covered in the clothing department.

Here are some pictures Lance took last night. He loves my "sleeping outfit" it always makes him laugh when I put it on to go to sleep. I feel like I look like a middle age overweight man.

Harry and the United States Postal Service

Althought Harry has an estranged relationship with the USPS, he is actually going to be on our holiday stamp. Here are some pictures of what we are considering for our stamp.

Thanksgiving

Lance and I went over to Scott and Leah's house to enjoy Thanksgiving since we could not go to Omaha because we were not able to travel this far along in my pregnancy. Over at their house there was Lance, Leah, Scott, Della, Drew, Zack (who mostly slept), Zack (Scott's son), Erik (Scott's son), Beverly (Scott's mom), and another Zack who was Erik's buddy.

Lance and I brought back Della's American Girl doll that was at our house. We dressed her up in Baby Custer's clothes and I had Lance hold the disguised doll like a baby and bring it downstairs and tell everyone that I had the baby...his delivery must have not been so good because no one believed him.

We also used the doll to have a diapering "how to". Della had to show Lance the proper way to diaper a baby. I am glad that he had the practice. Here are some pictures from the day:

MCAD Art Sale

The Minneapolis College of Art and Design dates back to 1886, when a group of arts lovers decided the relatively new town of Minneapolis should be as culturally sophisticated as any other in the United States.

This weekend they had their 2 day art sale that allows their current students to feature their original works of art and prints for under $1000.00. Lance and I went to the art sale the second day of the sale and there was a ton of art to choose from and I did not see anything near $1000.00. I think in the press release that they claimed that there was over 10,000 works of art to choose from and I would say that was about right.

Lance thought he even might have been inspiration for one of these works of art, you tell me which one you think it is.....

We bought a cheap painting at the art sale for our bathroom and it is currently being framed. When we get it back I will post it to the blog.

Grandma's Jewelry

I have been crafting baking up a storm while I wait for Baby Custer's arrival. In the past few days I have made pumpkin bread for us and our neighbor Marge, Chicken Noodle soup from scratch including the noodles...I have bedazzled a frame I bought from IKEA by putting black glitter on it from Martha Stewart's Craft line for next Halloween. We have also started on the winter window boxes and I will post those picture when we are finished. I also finished assembling my Jewelry Tree which is a framed Christmas Tree made with my Grandma's costume jewelry. The jewelry is supposed to look like Christmas tree ornaments....Take a look:

Lost Dog

Lance found a lost dog on his walk with Harry and brought it home. This is our 2nd neighborhood rescue...seems like dogs have a habit of getting out in our neighborhood. Anyways, she was super cute (we checked she definitely is a girl) and we called her Missy.

Missy had a dog bone, drink of water, and took a cat nap before Lance walked up to the Hardware store to find out who the owner was. When he came back I was happy to see that they said the dog did not look familiar...I thought I could keep her for myself because she is so sweet. To my dismay, Lance walked her around the neighborhood and found the owner, sort of.... A neighbor of the owner was outside and said the dog gets out all of the time and he would watch it until the owner came back home.

Maybe we will see Missy again!

Here is a picture of Missy and a picture of Harry crying because he had to watch Lance take another dog out for a walk around the neighborhood.

Fondue

This weekend Lance, JJ, Tiffany, Erin, Sachin and I got together for a fondue party at our house. We had a traditional cheese fondue, meat fondue followed up by a delicious chocolate fondue with all of the fixins.

We all had a great time bringing back this entertaining tradition from the 60's. It was a perfect meal for a cold night staying in.

I was happy to bring out my fondue pots and my fondue plates that I received for a wedding present.

Wicked

Lance and I went to go see the traveling broadway play Wicked last night at the Minneapolis Orpheum Theater.

Wicked is the untold story of the wiches of Oz, where one witch is smart, fiery and misunderstood...the other is beautiful, ambitious and very popular. These unlikely charictors are actually friends and end up the Wicked Witch of the West and Glinda the Good Witch. It is surprising how you feel about each witch by the end of the play.

Jennys Birthday

As you all know, I turned 31 years old November 3rd. Lance and I met Leah and Scott out for dinner...we all pigged out and then went our separate ways. This could have been the only birthday in the last 10 plus years that I did not have after dinner plans.

Lance and I came home and put poor Harry in a bikini that no longer fits Della. I guess these are the sort of things you do when you can not go out and hit the town.

Nebraska vs Oklahoma

Tonight we all watched the Nebraska Oklahoma game...all we can say is that we are all disappointed. We thought Nebraska would do a lot better. Lance had some choice words to say at the television, even his best friend Harry would rather be outside than see his mentor mad.

Halloween

For Halloween, Harry and Elvis wanted to be devils...they sure lived up to their costumes when kids came up to the door they both did their best to scare the daylights out of them.

Since we do not have too many kids in the neighborhood, Lance and I decided to go out to dinner after giving out some candy to our neighbor kids. We had our friend Sachin take a picture of us at dinner to show baby Custer's progress.
